This is huge as America has been facing oppression by the Federal Government in recent years in violation of the Constitution, especially in the area of food commerce. Last year, Congress introduced the Food Safety Modernization Act (S. 510) and recently, the Federal Government has been harassing locals who simply wish to engage in trade and sales free of excessive and unconstitutional regulations. One notable instance was a 5am sting at an Amish farm in Pennsylvania, in what the FDA called a “lawful inspection,” despite the Constitution granting no authority to them to do so.

It is GREAT that this affirmation of the 2nd Amendment has been done at a town level. But it is a pathetically sad thing that it even became necessary. The three issues of paramilitary rifle bans, magazine limitations and so-called 'Universal Background Checks' are all ridiculous in nature. First, any ban runs contrary to the words and spirit of the 2nd Amendment. Secondly, Jefferson's admonitions to us in the Declaration of Independence are to 'throw off' a despotic tyranny in America. How are we do to that without the most effective defensive firearms available at the time? Thirdly the limits on magazine size are dangerous. Anyone well-versed in self-defense is already aware of this. Under the stresses of combat, aimed and accurate fire diminishes to the point where perhaps only 10% of the shots are accurate. A ten round magazine will likely be a less than effective means of self defense. Fourthly, the so-called 'Universal Background Checks' have to be a joke right? Is there a plan to persuade desperate narcotics addicts, the career criminal, sociopathic killers and uncivilized inner city gangsters to submit each other to such checks, or will only honest people do so?

I can only hope and pray that more counties and states follow suit and begin to use the rights under the 10th amendment. I keep sending these notices and information to my state Senator and he has yet to respond to me. Our legislature in Indiana is part time, like Congress should be, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt so far. He usually responds to any concerns I express I pray that Indiana will join the ranks of those that nullify this atrocious un-Constitutional legislation.
